An extensive range of Covid Safe measures are in place to ensure the wellbeing of all.

Following the latest Government Roadmap announcements it is now clear that shows/events will not be able to take place at Portsmouth Guildhall before 17th May 2021.

We are now working with the shows/events affected and will be in touch with ticket holders as soon as we have updates. Please also keep an eye on our website and social media.

Box Office Re-opening: From Monday 12th April 2021
From 12th April 2021, our in-person Box Office service at the venue for sales and collections is available once again.

When you enter the Box Office you will be required to wear a face covering (unless you are exempt), have your temperature checked by our digital scanner, sanitise your hands and scan the QR code to register for Track & Trace.

The rest of the Guildhall remains closed for now while we await the next stage in the roadmap.

Returning to Events at Portsmouth Guildhall – from 17th May 2021

The safety of our customers and colleagues is our priority.

We want you to have an enjoyable and stress-free experience so we have put in place an extensive range of measures and ask that you follow our guidelines to ensure your wellbeing and that of others.

We have successfully met the Industry Standard Mark of Visit Britain and See it Safely mark of UK Theatre which demonstrates that we are adhering to Government and Public Health guidance, have carried out all necessary risk assessments and that we have the required processes in place.

Before Your Visit

Make sure you have your tickets

Please print out your e-ticket or ensure your ticket is easily available on your phone so it can be scanned by one of our team when you arrive.

Are you feeling well?
Before you travel, please take your temperature. If you have a reading of 37.8c or higher, have a new, continuous cough, and/or have a loss of taste or smell – please stay at home and contact your point of ticket purchase for options regarding your tickets.

Check your arrival time and entrance
We have staggered our entry times and entry points to ensure we can maintain social distances. Please arrive at the time and entrance stated.

Keep Belongings to a Minimum
We will be conducting contactless security procedures and will not be offering a cloakroom service at this time so ask that you only bring minimal, essential belongings with you. Please do not bring a bag that is larger than an A4 sheet of paper in size.

Pre-Order your Refreshments
Details of how you can order pre-show and/or interval refreshments are available below and are contained in your pre-show email. Please order in advance to guarantee your refreshments. Visit this page to order your drinks.

Enhanced Cleaning Procedures

We have enhanced our cleaning procedures to ensure we provide a clean and safe environment for every performance.

When You Arrive

Find your Entrance Point
Please locate your Entrance Point and join the queue, maintaining your distance from those in front of and behind you.

Contactless Check In & Security
We will not touch your phone, ticket or belongings. Please have your printed e-ticket or ticket on your phone ready and hold it in such a way that our team can easily scan the QR code. Please also be prepared to open your bag for search and follow the instructions of our team.

Track and Trace
Your details given at the time of booking will be supplied to Government agencies if we are required to do so. Helping to contain the virus will help us to stay open and keep us all doing what we love!

Temperature Check
Your temperature will be taken by our digital scanner. Please wait to be called forward by one of our team. If your temperature is higher than 37.8c you will be asked to wait for 5 minutes before we take your temperature again. If your temperature is still higher than 37.8c you will not be able to attend the performance and our staff will advise you of your ticket options.

You will be requested to use the hand sanitiser provided.

Face Covering
Please have your face covering in place when you enter the Guildhall. If you are exempt from wearing a face covering please inform a member of our staff on your arrival. If you have forgotten your face covering, they may be purchased from our Box Office when you arrive.

Take Your Seat
Please move directly to your seats following the one-way systems and signage in place. Seating in the Auditorium will be distanced to comply with current Government guidelines. Our staff will be on hand to assist you.

During Your Visit

Maintain Your Distance
Please keep a safe distance from others at all times and limit your movement around the venue as much as possible.

Follow the One-Way Systems
Please follow the one-way routes around the venue which are clearly marked by floor markings and signage.

Face Covering
You will need to wear a face covering at all times whilst in the venue, unless you are exempt from wearing one (please see above). You may remove your face covering only whilst seated, to eat or drink.

Using the Toilet
Please follow the one-way routes to and from your seat to your nearest toilet. Please listen to the instructions of our staff as you may be directed to an alternative toilet. Please maintain a safe distance if you need to queue for the toilet. Please wash your hands and use the hand sanitiser provided.

Enhanced Cleaning Procedures
Touch points have been eliminated wherever possible but where they can’t be our team will be carrying out frequent cleaning. We have provided sanitisation points throughout the venue and ask that you sanitise your hands frequently.

Please pre-order your refreshments via our app or online here
Alcoholic refreshments will only be available from 30 minutes before the show start time and only one person from your household bubble should go to the bar/collection point whilst the rest of the party remain seated. Please note we are a cashless venue.

We will be extending our interval times to allow extra time for people to use the toilet and bar facilities and maintain distancing. Please remain in your seat during the interval if possible. Please listen for announcements regarding Interval length at each performance.


After the Show

Please Wait for Instruction
Please remain seated and listen to the instructions of our team. We will ask you to leave in a way that is staggered via designated exit points so that we can maintain safe distances.

Please use the hand sanitiser provided as you exit the venue.

Enhanced Cleaning Procedures
We carry out a deep clean of the venue after every performance, including the use of antiviral misting on seats and carpets, to ensure the highest levels of safety.

Coming to a show before 21st June 2021? Worried what will happen if you can’t attend due to Covid-19?

Worry not! If you are unable to attend a performance with our new ‘Book With Confidence’ guarantee due to Covid-19 (if you have tested positive for or have symptoms of Covid-19, are required to self-isolate or if the show is cancelled or postponed) we will give you your money back or exchange your tickets for a future show.

With enough to think about in these difficult times, don’t let missing out on tickets to see your favourite comedian, artist, band or performer add to the list. Give yourself something to look forward to and be safe in the knowledge that we’ve got you covered against Covid.
