The UVG is delighted to be able to expand its mentorship programme which, over the lockdown period, has provided 10 young people the opportunity to work remotely with professional musicians to help develop their musical and personal skills. Sessions are tailored to the young person’s goals and can focus on a variety of outcomes such as building confidence, improving technique, writing a song, performance skills or learning more about the music industry. Our mentors are all professional musicians who are skilled in a range of different genres and styles with extensive experience in the music industry and of working with young people.

Mentorships are between 6 and 12 weeks and for the time being will be delivered remotely. Places are limited, although as this is a rolling programme, we aim to provide between 25 – 30 mentorships over the next year.

The UVG is committed to providing these activities free of charge to those who would otherwise not have the opportunity to participate and if you would like to apply for a mentorship, please complete the form via this link. This will then be reviewed, and we will be in contact if you are selected for the Mentorship programme.
