CASE STUDY: New Carnival – Project Projection From Dream to Reality: A Hornpipe Small Grants Scheme Case Study Friday 8th December 2023 Ryde, Isle of Wight Portsmouth Guildhall New Carnival's Project Projection New Carnival, whose mission is to engage communities through celebratory outdoor arts, applied to the Hornpipe Grants Scheme through the Guildhall Trust for some funding for Project Projection. This project offered children and young people the opportunity to learn about digital art and mapped projections. After exploring and creating digital art and projections, individual artworks were made in preparation for the collaborative animation of their works, which were projected onto St Thomas’s church at the Ryde Merry and Bright Christmas event. The audience at the event was estimated to be over 2,000 people. 52 young people benefited from the project, and 45 earned art award qualifications.
