Security Coordinator (operational)

DEPARTMENT: Venue Operations
RESPONSIBLE TO: General Manager
HOURS: 20hrs per week contracted
SALARY: £11,960.00 per annum (FTE 24K)

A new role supporting the General Manager & the Venue Services Manager. Facilitating the administration & operational supervision of the casual security team & assessing the venue’s events for risk, security, and safety considerations. Venue Overnight Porter/Cleaner

DEPARTMENT:  Venue Services – Operations
RESPONSIBLE TO:  Venue Services Manager
HOURS:  20hr per week (rota will change weekly in advance)
PAY:  £10.00ph

Setting up the venue ready for the next day both with small meeting and conference rooms as well as the main auditorium between concerts with a team of casual porters, ensuring that the rooms are set up to the standard as set by the venue services manager. Carrying out front of house cleaning duties. You must be confident with lone working. This is a physical job.

Job Title: Casual Event Team

We are recruiting for our casual event team!!

With life hoping to return to some normality we need some great people to join our concert & events team:
-Bar team members 18+
-Front of house team members
-SIA door supervisors (must have current licence)
-Stage & technical (must have experience)
-Late Portering Crew (physical role, changing the venue to & from different layouts)

Must be able to work evenings and some weekends.

Volunteering

If you have a passion for music, the arts or Portsmouth Guildhall and have some time to give we would love to welcome you to our team of Volunteers.

Make new friends, support our work in the community and gain experience within the live music and event industry. We have a range of opportunities across departments throughout the venue.

We are currently seeking volunteers to be a part of our ‘Discovering the Guildhall’ HLF project.

Work Experience

Week long work experience for Y10, Y11 and College Students

We offer a limited number of placements each year that give a broad experience across all departments of the venue.

Please complete our Application Form and send it at least 2 months before your required start date to: hayley.reay@portsmouth.guildhall.org.uk

We do not accept CVs and/or Covering Letters and the application must be written and submitted by the person wishing to undertake work experience. We particularly welcome applications from students who express an interest in working in the music, arts and cultural sector.

Potential applicants will be interviewed in person or by phone before a placement is offered. Due to the large number of applications we receive we are not able to reply to all. If you have not heard from us within 1 week of submitting your application, you have unfortunately been unsuccessful.

Work Shadow Opportunities

Each year we run ‘Connect’ our work shadow programme where we offer x10 young people aged 16+ who are serious about developing a career offstage, the opportunity to work alongside our technical team.

Over a 9 month period successful applicants are offered x3 shows on which they can shadow our team, learn about how shows are run and how to approach the working environment.
