Drop off your toys at Portsmouth Guildhall's Donation Point.

Portsmouth Guildhall is pleased to be one of the drop-off points for the Nation Radio South Toy Appeal 2024, bringing smiles to children in need across Portsmouth and beyond.

As one of the South Coast’s largest festive toy collection initiatives, the Toy Appeal ensures that every child experiences the magic of Christmas, no matter their circumstances. The Parenting Network, a Portsmouth-based charity dedicated to supporting families, will oversee the collection, storage, and distribution of toys locally. With their robust infrastructure and passionate team, they’re ready to make this year’s campaign the most successful yet.

“Christmas is a time for joy, but for many families, it can be a time of financial strain,” says Matt Foster, Founder of The Parenting Network. “The Toy Appeal is our way of ensuring that every child feels special and cared for during the festive season. We’re thrilled to collaborate with Nation Radio and Barratt Homes/David Wilson Homes to make this a reality.”

How It Works

  1. Donate: Members of the public are invited to donate in two easy ways:
    • Drop off new, unwrapped toys suitable for children aged 0–18 at one of our collection points, which includes Portsmouth Guildhall (opposite our box office). A full list of drop-off locations can be found at Nation Radio South Toy Appeal.
    • Visit our Amazon Wishlist at https://amzn.eu/erVyzPU to select a gift that can be delivered directly to the appeal, making it easier than ever to give a present this Christmas.
  1. Spread the Word: Start a workplace initiative to support the appeal. Businesses can organise toy collections, encourage staff to contribute via the Amazon Wishlist, or even host fundraising events to purchase gifts. It’s a fantastic way to bring teams together for a meaningful cause and make a real impact in the local community.

Key Partners

  • Nation Radio South Coast: Driving awareness with on-air promotions and live updates from collection points.
  • Barratt Homes/David Wilson Homes: Providing logistical support and facilities for toy storage.

Why It Matters
With the rising cost of living, more families are struggling to make ends meet. This appeal offers hope, ensuring children receive gifts that bring joy, comfort, and a sense of belonging during the holiday season.
