We are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. She visited Portsmouth and the Guildhall a number of times throughout her reign and she is pictured here re-opening the Guildhall on 8th June 1959 after it was rebuilt following WWII and the Blitz.
In accordance with guidance from DCMS, future shows and events during the official period of mourning will go ahead.
Messages of Condolence
From now until Tuesday 20th September, Portsmouth Guildhall is open every day, 9am – 8pm, for you to leave your message of condolence. (Open 10am – 4pm on Monday 19th September).
Please write your message in advance and place it in the box provided (cards will be provided if you are not able to write your message in advance). After 20th September, messages will be compiled into books of condolence by Portsmouth City Council.
Please be advised that in accordance with government guidance events will continue to take place in Portsmouth Guildhall at the following times:
Friday 9th September: From 7.30pm
Saturday 10th September: 12-5pm and 6-11pm
Sunday 11th September: From 7.30pm
Friday 16th September: From 7.30pm
Saturday 17th September: From 7.30pm
Sunday 18th September: From 7.30pm
