BIG MOUTH COMEDY FESTIVAL IS SET TO PUT THE SMILE BACK ON PORTSMOUTH’S FACE – WITH EVEN MORE NAMES NOW ADDED!
The Big Mouth Comedy Festival returns to Portsmouth Guildhall on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th September with the finest in live stand-up and the best of the fringe in what is guaranteed to be two days of laughter that will put a smile on your face as we get back to enjoying live entertainment!
Following the previously announced stellar line-up of Nabil Abdulrashid, Suzi Ruffell, Paul McCaffrey, Charlie Baker, Michael Odewale, Travis Jay, Nathan Caton, Marlon Davis, Ali Cook, Sophie Duker, Maisie Adam and Alex Kealy, Big Mouth is delighted to announce even more of the finest names on the circuit to complete Saturday’s billing.
Scaredy Kat (Alex Cubb) of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is ready to grace the stage with his unbearably impressive talents! Basically the ramblings of an eccentric icon. Original music comedy, poetry, freaky dance moves and skit after skit after skit. Oh and campery, loads of campery!
Storytelling abilities and a cheeky, friendly demeanour make Andrew Ryan a natural observational stand-up and one of the most in-demand acts on the UK comedy circuit. He is a prolific contributor to talkSPORT and has performed stand-up on Russell Howard’s Good News, Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live, Comedy Central at The Comedy Store, Funny Rotten Scoundrels and makes regular appearances on TV3’s The Six O’Clock Show and more recently BBC One NI’s The Blame Game and contributor on The Line Out for Virgin Media TV.
With his ‘Work in Progress’, Elliot Steel is marked as ‘one to watch’ by The Independent. A rising talent on the UK comedy circuit, Steel received critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Best Debut Show Nominee at Leicester Comedy Festival 2015 and has been on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and Live from the Comedy Store, BBC Radio 1’s Comedy Lounge and BBC Radio 4.
Stuart Laws is a comedian who went worldwide viral for his Twitter thread about dirty plates in a cafe, his impression of Michael Caine saying NEVER in Batman or the time he phoned a mobile phone number on the side of a horse. Laws has supported James Acaster on tour and was nominated for Best Show at Leicester Comedy Festival earlier this year having appeared on and written for Radio 4, Channel 4, Sky, Dave and most recently wrote, directed and starred in Grave New World on Prime Video.
And last, but by no means least, with his intimate debut tour “Silly Boy” Rich Hardisty will take you on a journey through the highs and lows of his unusual life. Expect anecdotes and observations about mental institutions, missing dads and mania, all from a warm, inquisitive and childlike perspective. Raw, open and most importantly, funny!
