Maisie Adam and Alex Kealy join the line-up...

The Big Mouth Comedy Festival returns to Portsmouth Guildhall on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th September with the finest in live stand-up and the best of the fringe in what is guaranteed to be 2 days of laughter that will put a smile back on your face!

Following the previously announced stellar line-up of Nabil Abdulrashid, Suzi Ruffell, Paul McCaffrey, Charlie Baker, Michael Odewale, Travis Jay, Nathan Caton, Marlon Davis, Ali Cook and Sophie Duker, Big Mouth is delighted to announce that even more of the finest names on the circuit are joining the bill.

Added to Friday’s finest in live stand-up night is Maisie Adam. Hailing from Yorkshire, Maisie’s comedy career kicked off in 2017 when she entered the nationwide So You Think You’re Funny? contest (previously won by Peter Kay, Aisling Bea and Tom Allen), and found herself the winner of the grand final at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival – only the 4th woman to ever have done so.

Since then, with her anecdotal material and witty charm, Maisie has been nominated Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, won the Amused Moose National Comic Award and has appeared on Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You, QI, Roast Battle, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Hypothetical, The Stand-Up Sketch Show and also hosts the podcast, That’s a First alongside fellow comedian Tom Lucy.

And joining Saturday’s best of the fringe line-up is the hilarious Alex Kealy. A stand-up who mixes smart, political material with self-deprecation and relatable observations. In his first year of performing, he reached the final of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny? competition and is now a rising star of the British comedy scene.

An in-demand joke writer, Alex has written for shows including Mock the Week, The News Quiz and The Now Show and his comedy has been listed in the top jokes of the Edinburgh Fringe by The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Mirror, The Evening Standard, The Independent and more. He has supported Ivo Graham and Shappi Khorsandi on tour and is regularly a co-host of political comedy podcast, Trashfuture.
