Comedy makes a comeback this Autumn at Portsmouth Guildhall

Has a good laugh ever been needed more than in 2020?!

It would be an understatement to say that this continues to be a difficult year for most, so Portsmouth Guildhall is determined that the show will go on in a way that adheres to all current guidance, and give people something to look forward to and laugh about this Autumn with a host of top comedians including Jimmy Carr!

Starting in November, the ever-popular LOL Comedy Club will be returning with a monthly series of new ‘TV All Stars’ evenings, bringing you their best ever all-star comedy line up featuring comics from shows such as Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Britain’s Got Talent.

Each LOL Comedy Club TV All Stars evening will have a different line-up of four top professional comics plus a top notch host and compere, and with previous acts including Jason Manford, John Bishop and Sarah Millican before they hit the big time, you are guaranteed a great night!

If you’re looking for a pre-Christmas treat, a few tickets remain for Jimmy Carr’s distanced 16th December ‘Terribly Funny’ show. This brand-new show contains jokes about all kinds of terrible things – having political correctness at a comedy show is like having health and safety at a rodeo! But they’re just jokes!

Also returning to the Guildhall in December is Geordie comedian Carl Hutchinson, as seen on Comedy Central’s Stand Up Central and The Chris Ramsey Show, with his brand-new tour, ‘I Know I Shouldn’t Behave Like This…’ From buying a house to having kids, Carl takes his unique adolescent approach to grown up issues, with stories and observations that will have you laughing your head off!

Portsmouth Guildhall is ‘Good to Go’ having successfully achieved the Industry Standard Mark of Visit Britain which demonstrates that the venue is adhering to Government and Public Health guidance, has carried out all necessary risk assessments and has the required processes in place.

To ensure the wellbeing of all, an extensive range of Covid Safety measures have been put in place including social distancing, one-way systems, staggered entry and exits, sanitisation stations, temperature checks, face coverings, to your seat service, contactless systems and a thorough cleaning regime after every performance including the use of antiviral misting on seats and carpets in the auditorium.

With limited capacities, tickets will sell quickly so don’t delay, get yours and give yourself something to look forward to this Autumn today!
