Following the Government road map announcement, we are sorry to announce that the Portsmouth Chamber Music concerts at Portsmouth Guildhall on 22nd March, 12th April, 26th April and 12th May are not able to go ahead.
The Ensemble 360 concert on 14th June will be going ahead at Portsmouth Guildhall as planned and we hope to bring you news of some exciting live streamed performances very soon!
Fenella Humphreys violin, Rosalind Ventris viola, Cara Berridge cello
SCHUBERT String Trio in B‐flat, D. 471
ADRIAN SUTTON Spring Masque for violin and viola
SIBELIUS String Trio in G minor
MARTINŮ Duo No. 1 for Violin & Cello, H. 157
MOZART Divertimento in E‐flat, K. 563
The word Divertimento usually implies something light‐hearted, even frivolous, but this Mozart work is perhaps the most sublime of all his chamber pieces. Leading up to this we have an intriguing mixture of lesser known trios by famous composers, and two duo rarities. Adrian Sutton is better known for a string of commissions for the National Theatre, including War Horse, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night‐time, and, most recently, Angels in America.
