Enjoy an unforgettable evening of contemporary Blues in the Guildhall Studio with the award-winning Giles Robson and Kyla Brox.

Blues harp master, singer and songwriter Giles Robson stands out from other Blues musicians and has been described by Alligator Records as “A Blues giant, an absolute master of the form” having been the only European artist to appear on the legendary label.

Giles Robson is also one of only three UK Blues artists, alongside Eric Clapton and Peter Green, to win a coveted Blues Music Award in Memphis (the Grammys of the Blues) for his collaboration on ‘Journeys to the Heart of the Blues’ with Joe Louis Walker and Bruce Katz.

Robson plays and sings powerful, emotional and timeless harmonica Blues with his own distinct style and his live shows have won over audiences across the world, gaining him the reputation for being a great live performer.

Blues and soul become inextricably entwined in award-winning singer-songwriter, Kyla Brox, whose raw talent has seen her described as “the finest female Blues singer of her generation”.

Winner of the 2018 UK Blues Challenge, Kyla had the honour of representing the UK in Memphis at the 2019 International Blues Challenge, as well as the European event in the Azores having been made an official Ambassador of UK Blues by the UK Blues Federation in 2016 and is one of only three British singers privileged to be included in the 50 Women of the Blues Spotify playlist.

Daughter of cult Blues figure, Victor Brox, the Mancunian’s sophisticated vocals are tender, urgent and gritty, blurring the distinction between pleasure and pain, creating a unique and powerful, often joyous, and always emotional experience.
