Building connections with Artists
In a newly established programme, we are delighted to be working in partnership with Associate Artists to develop our artistic vision and build stronger connections with artists whose work we admire.
Our Associate Artists receive sustained support, advice and promotion from us through a bespoke package tailored to their needs which might include training, funding, mentoring and opportunities to present their work in our Studio. We can also offer access to rehearsal space, gifting artists with the space and time needed to explore their craft.
Our first Associate Artists:
A theatre company that explores the fusion of live performance with alternative music genres. Founded in 2015, Amplified Theatre’s debut production Unsigned premiered at the Black Box Festival, transferring to the Tristan Bates as part of the Camden Fringe, playing to sell out audiences.
Following projects have included gig-theatre plays Street Magic and V.E, becoming Resident Company of Zoo Co’s Theatre on the High Street and Six; an annual writing project to showcase six short plays, by six emerging writers, inspired by six songs of upcoming musicians.
Amplified Theatre have also worked with Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts on R&D workshop, Heart of Hearts and the Deaf & Hearing Ensemble with Young Busker of the Year, Jamie West, in a day of collaboration.
Founded in Portsmouth in 2018, Brightside Entertainments’ mission is to celebrate the light-hearted and humorous side of life through original comedy.
Starting out as three students studying Drama & Performance at University of Portsmouth, Brightside Entertainments began producing shows in their spare time before becoming an Associate Artist of The Guildhall Trust to produce their debut production, Definitely not Romeo and Juliet, which will be showcased in the Guildhall Studio before heading to Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer.
