Building connections with Artists

In a newly established programme, we are delighted to be working in partnership with Associate Artists to develop our artistic vision and build stronger connections with artists whose work we admire.

Our Associate Artists receive sustained support, advice and promotion from us through a bespoke package tailored to their needs which might include training, funding, mentoring and opportunities to present their work in our Studio. We can also offer access to rehearsal space, gifting artists with the space and time needed to explore their craft.

Our Current Associate Artists:

Ayse Evans
Watching a Whale Fall is a death positive play which follows a crew of all female pirates aboard The Day Of Reckoning. It was given a week long R&D with support from the National Youth Theatre, before being staged at the Lion and Unicorn as part of the London Playwrights festival (a recording of which can be found here) Ayse also received National Lottery funding and support from London Performance studios to R&D Potholing, a play in development about ADHD and becoming lost underground.

With support from The Guildhall Trust’s Associate Artist programme, Ayse will be further developing (and hopefully touring!) her play Squirrels. Squirrels follows a teenage boy as he navigates a world he doesn’t fit in to, while he deals with his Father’s addictions and cares for his bin full of Squirrels. The play was short listed for the Phil Fox award in playwrighting and was supported in its development by Mrs C’s collective.
