The Guildhall Trust will transform the Sunday of the two-day extravaganza into a World of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Portsmouth Comic Con – International Festival of Comics, the largest event of its kind in the South, will return to Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May next year offering the best of comics, film, TV and pop culture entertainment to aficionados, fans and families alike with a special, new, magical twist for 2020 that will leave visitors spellbound.

With a wave of their wand, The Guildhall Trust will transform the Sunday of the two-day extravaganza into a World of Witchcraft and Wizardry, celebrating the fantasy novel and film worlds of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Excalibur, The Witches, Maleficent and many more with a host of costumed characters, props, games, workshops and a ‘School of Wizards’ themed cosplay parade.

This follows the first day of the event which, with the imminent release of the new DC Film, Wonder Woman 1984, will be a celebration of female superheroes including Black Widow, Supergirl, Storm, Catwoman and Harley Quinn with a range of characters, guests, exhibitions and panels.

Both days of the convention will feature some of the key names from the comic industry, incisive panels and interactive fun. There will be endless attractions in the form of VR experiences, robots, board and retro gaming, exhibitions, displays, workshops and a Comic City packed full of merch and collectables.

With a reputation for attracting some of the key artists and writers behind such properties as Star Wars, Batman, Superman, Avengers, Wolverine, Dr Who, Game of Thrones and many more, Portsmouth Comic Con in association with Event Partner, Tripwire Magazine, is also set to announce the first of their international guests very soon, offering visitors a fascinating inside track into the comics industry.

Celebrity cosplayers, guests and the ever-popular adult and child cosplay parades will be led by Event Partner, GoGeek Events who bring creativity and imagination to life in a family-friendly environment, allowing all to be free to express themselves.
