The five-strong Mini BSO has performed and worked in many Portsmouth primary schools in recent years.
The ensemble comprises members of the orchestra that make up the different instrumental families of the orchestra – wind (bassoon), brass (horn and trombone), strings (violin) and percussion.
The theme of this one hour concert, devised specially for Key Stage 1 pupils, is music inspired by dance, and is centred around a specially written musical story about dancing animals.
There will be singing and movement, and core musical concepts such as high/low, fast/slow, loud/soft and vibration are explored as the musicians demonstrate how their instrument works.
The concert will last about 45 minutes.
To book tickets schools need to contact Linda Higson, BSO Resonate Administrator: 01202 644707.
