We have launched our brand new scheme to thank NHS Staff and key workers

To thank our amazing NHS staff and other key workers for their selfless dedication during the Covid-19 pandemic, The Guildhall Trust is inviting people to show their appreciation and ‘Gift a Ticket’ to these wonderful individuals so that they may enjoy a future show at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Currently closed until further notice, Portsmouth Guildhall has rescheduled the majority of its shows that were due to take place in the coming months to later dates in Autumn 2020 and Spring 2021 with new shows for these dates also being announced, giving everybody something to look forward to once this difficult and uncertain time is over.

In recognition of the extraordinary effort and sacrifice of NHS and key staff at this time, The Guildhall Trust is pledging to ‘Gift a Ticket’ to workers on behalf of everyone who donates. For every £30 that is donated through the Portsmouth Guildhall website before the end of June, The Guildhall Trust and show promoters will ‘Gift a Ticket’ and contribute a number of additional tickets into the scheme.

Tickets for a wide range of shows and events will be made available through the scheme including Portsmouth Comic Con – International Festival of Comics, Guildhall Games Fest, John Bishop, Russell Howard, UB40, Jason Donovan, The Stranglers and many more.

Chief Executive Officer Andy Grays said, “The Guildhall Trust, like many other venues and businesses, faces difficult and uncertain times, but we are determined that the show will go on and when we are able, Portsmouth Guildhall will re-open and once more provide the thrill and joy of live concerts and give people the chance to make memories that last a lifetime. We are well aware that however big the challenge we face, this doesn’t compare to what is being asked of our NHS and key workers right now, so we wanted to do something to say thank you and show our support and give members of the public the chance to do the same”.

People wishing to ‘Gift a Ticket’ are asked to donate online at www.portsmouthguildhall.org.uk/donate with all donations made by the end of June going toward the scheme. Any donation, however large or small, is gratefully received. The Guildhall Trust will work through its partners and contacts to distribute tickets when the scheme closes.

The Guildhall Trust is also showing its support for the NHS by lighting the iconic Guildhall blue for the foreseeable future.

In a plea for people to support them and other local venues during this challenging time, The Guildhall Trust is urging people to stay engaged through their social media channels, buy tickets for a future show if they are able or consider becoming a member.

For now, the lights may be dimmed, but with your support, Portsmouth Guildhall will be back and will shine brighter than ever.
